Have you heard of an amazing program we are using at Clearfield called PBIS? PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports.
Students receive points for exemplifying positive behaviors in the following categories, Attendance, Active Engagement, and Accountability
Students use the PBIS Rewards App to login to the PBIS store where they use their points to purchase items such as Chick-Fil-A Sandwiches, Pizza, Soda, and more!
Teachers are also entered into a drawing for a treat each week, simply by issuing points to students for their positive behaviors!

Do have U's AND credit recovery to take care of? You can make them up at the same time! For seniors and sophomores not taking the ACT on the 25th, pizza will be provided for lunch! Please enter through the doors closest to the bus loop by the library.

Today, our students pledged to "Choose life by taking care of myself and others" as part of Hope Week.

Congratulations to one of our incredibly talented seniors, Ainsley, for winning the Utah Watercolor Society Senior Award at the 53rd Annual Utah All-State High School Art Show at the Springville Museum of Art. Ainsley was recognized at their award ceremony in February, and visited our State Capitol to be recognized by our state Senate leaders for her work.

Each year, seniors are selected for Sterling Scholar, representing fourteen content specific areas in each high school. Students are awarded for their pursuit of excellence in scholarship, leadership and citizenship in the State of Utah. They create portfolios showcasing the experience in scholarship, category specific work, leadership, community service, and an interview. Seven Clearfield High School students made it to the Region Semi-finals., and one of them was just selected for Region Finals, which includes all high schools from Utah, Salt Lake, Davis, Weber, Cache, Tooele, and Box Elder counties. Congratulations to our very own, Teancum!
Some of the highlights from Teancum's Portfolio include: Sewing and Quilting the Falcons Are Fabulous quilt for the winter fundraiser, came in first place with Ed Rising competition, interning with Junior High School teachers in math and geography, organizing clubs, and National Honors Society.

Last month, Mr. Handy's English class enhanced their learning of Shakespeare by writing a valentine from one Shakespeare character to another. Students discussed why those characters would choose the other and why they would say what they did. This activity is a great example of the creativity our teachers use to engage their students and help their knowledge grow!

Congratulations to all the members of HOSA for placing in several events at the state competition this week, and for taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the HOSA Bowl and Anatomage Competitions!

We are grateful for the opportunity to share how amazing Clearfield High is with First Lady, Abby Cox. She read to and visited with our students, toured the school, learned about our successful teen center and food pantry, and inspired us all to strive to do our best and make a positive impact in all we do and on those we meet.

If you are interested in trying out for the 2025-26 cheer team, there is a mandatory parent/athlete meeting this Wednesday at 6:00 pm. All candidates must attend to be eligible to tryout.

Due to the evacuation this morning, we will be on an adjusted schedule for the rest of the school day! Please see the email Mr. Keime sent out for more details.
