Claire Davis fondly recalls her time at Sunset Elementary as a transformative experience that ignited her passion for learning. The supportive environment and dedicated faculty played a crucial role in shaping her academic journey. Claire remembers every teacher who pushed her to excel and the special kindness of the school librarian, Mrs. Harris, who provided comfort during challenging times in third grade. The encouragement and guidance she received at Sunset Elementary paved the way for her current achievements.
One of Claire's most cherished memories is being "Principal of the Day," where she enjoyed the unique experience of sitting behind Ms. Rees' desk, declaring a Crazy Hair/Pajama/Readathon day, and participating in professional teacher observations. This fun-filled day left a lasting impression and created memories she treasures to this day.
Now at Sunset Junior High, Claire is thriving in numerous clubs and programs, holding leadership positions such as SBO President, Creative Writing Club President, Sunset Sentinel President and Yearbook Head Editor. She is also active in Sound Choir, the school musical, and the National Junior Honor Society. Claire attributes her success to the lessons learned at Sunset Elementary, where hard work and the courage to try opened doors to countless opportunities.
Sunset Elementary continues to be a nurturing and inspiring place for students, fostering a love of learning and helping them reach their full potential.
